Why is it important to talk about the non-recommended methods and products of cleaning the iPhone, well, simply because maybe if you know what not to do, it might give you a better idea on what to do.

To start off, the very first thing never to do when cleaning an iPhone, is to do it while the phone is on, or connected to external devices or a source of power. So never go about cleaning your phone’s screen while it is on and or connected to the charger or any other device for that matter. Always turn it off, and unplugged it from all external devices including chargers, headphones, etc.

Next, never use any form or kind of an abrasive cloth,  paper towels, towels and similar items to clean your iPhone screen as they may cause damage to the screen. so what should you use then? well a soft, lint-free cloth will do the trick and at times, these even comes with your iPhone. But if you don’t have one, you can very easily get one at any Apple retail outlet. Also, avoid using a too wet cloth to wipe your iPhone screen. Use a slightly wet cloth, and make sure that it is not dripping. Because you want to avoid by all means to get moisture into any openings.

Note: If by any chance, liquid does make its way inside your iPhone X, seek immediate assistance from an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store as soon as possible. Also keep in mind that liquid damage is not covered under the

AppleCare protection Plans or Apple product warranty.

And lastly one of the things you don’t wanna take any chances with is using any form of window cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives to clean iPhone. The simple reason for this, beside the fact that they are simply not made for cleaning an iPhone, is that Since The front glass surface of your device contains an oleophobic coating, that repels oil, The ability of this coating to repel oil will naturally diminish over time with normal usage and normal cleaning. And rubbing the screen with an abrasive material, or alcohol or similar products will further diminish its effect and may even scratch the glass. Even when using some other recommended cleaners such as the iKlear, avoid spraying directly on your device. Spray it on the soft cloth, and then apply it on the screen.

Now we all know what never to do, and what kinds of products never to use when cleaning an iPhone screen. So in the future, if you want to to go about cleaning iPhone, be careful not to use any of these products or methods. Using the right methods and products will not only make your iPhone screen shining and smudged, but it also guarantees it a long life.
